What is a hormone type quiz?
A hormone type quiz is a science-based questionnaire that identifies your current dominant hormonal profile based on age, menstrual cycle status, symptoms, and lifestyle factors. Unlike generic personality quizzes, this assessment uses the STRAW+10 framework — the gold standard for staging female reproductive ageing — to give you a clinically grounded starting point for understanding your body.
Is this hormone test free?
Yes, completely free. There's no signup, no email required, no credit card. You don't even need an account. We built this as a free tool because every woman should be able to understand her hormonal profile without paywalls. The optional Daily Tracker that follows is also free to use.
Is my data private?
Yes, completely. All your answers and results are stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. We don't run a backend server. We don't have a database of users. We can't see your data because there's nothing to see — it never reaches us. If you delete your browser data, the data is gone. That's the architecture, not just the policy.
Can this replace a doctor's diagnosis?
No. This is a self-assessment tool to help you understand patterns and possibilities, not a medical diagnosis. The five hormone types are educational categories grounded in clinical research, but only a licensed healthcare provider with access to your bloodwork and history can diagnose specific hormonal conditions like PCOS, perimenopause, or thyroid disorders. Always discuss concerning symptoms with your doctor.
What are the 5 hormone types?
The five hormone types we identify are: Cycle Surfer (regular, balanced cycles), Estrogen Dominant (PMS, breast tenderness, cravings, water retention), Progesterone Deficient (anxiety, sleep issues, irregular cycles, low calm), Perimenopause Transitioner (hot flashes, mood swings, brain fog), and Postmenopause Renewer (post-menopausal stability, new baseline).
What is STRAW+10?
STRAW+10 — Stages of Reproductive Aging Workshop, 10-year update — is the clinical framework published by Harlow et al. in 2012 (Menopause, 19(4), 387–395). It's endorsed by the National Institutes of Health, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the International Menopause Society. STRAW+10 defines seven distinct stages of a woman's reproductive lifespan. This quiz uses STRAW+10 staging as the foundation for identifying which hormone type best fits you.
