The bananas do the sweetening here, so they need to be properly ripe: heavily freckled or almost black. That is why this loaf needs only 30g of maple syrup in total. Greek yogurt keeps it moist, and a little protein powder gives each slice 11g of protein.

Each slice has about 11g of protein and 216 calories. More than 20% of its energy comes from protein, which is the threshold for calling a food "high protein" in the UK.
Only 3g of added sugar a slice. The sweetness comes from very ripe bananas and cinnamon; the only added sugar is the maple syrup. Most banana bread recipes add a lot of sugar on top of the bananas. The NHS advises adults to have no more than 30g of free sugars a day.
The protein comes from the eggs, Greek yogurt, almonds and protein powder. No protein powder? Use another 40g of ground almonds instead. Each slice will have about 9g of protein.
Wholemeal flour and walnuts add fibre and unsaturated fat. That makes a slice a sensible snack before or after training, or for anyone who wants something sweet that keeps them going rather than leaving them hungry an hour later.
Allergy notes. This contains eggs, milk, wheat and tree nuts. For a warm breakfast with oats and fruit, try the baked oats with apple and cinnamon.
